Welcome to Hailey Elementary

Dear Hailey Elementary Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope your summer brought opportunities to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends. There is something special about the beginning of a new school year—the excitement in the hallways, the anticipation of new friendships and experiences, and the opportunity for all of us to begin again with fresh energy and purpose.

This year is especially exciting at Hailey Elementary as we welcome many new staff members to our school family. They bring new ideas, talents, experiences, and enthusiasm to our team, and we can’t wait for our students and families to get to know them. We are also grateful for our returning staff, whose dedication and commitment continue to make Hailey Elementary such a special place for children.

Our Theme: Ripple Effect — Small Actions, Big Impact 🌊

A ripple begins with something small—a single drop—and then spreads outward. We believe the same thing happens every day in our school.

A smile in the hallway.
Inviting someone to join a game.
Helping a classmate.
Trying again when something is difficult.
Showing up ready to learn.
Taking an extra moment to encourage someone.

These may seem like small actions, but together, they can have an incredible impact.

And at Hailey Elementary, creating that positive ripple starts with something our Comets already know well:

Be Kind. Be Safe. Be Responsible.

These three simple expectations guide how we learn, play, solve problems, and care for one another. When one student chooses kindness, it can inspire another. When we make safe choices, we help everyone around us. When we take responsibility for our actions, we build trust and strengthen our community.

One choice creates another. One action can change someone’s day. 

Living the Comet Way is one way to cause a ripple! ☄️

Our PBIS Comet Way program will continue to recognize and celebrate students for being Kind, Safe, and Responsible throughout our school.

But the Comet Way is about more than recognition. It is about creating a school where every child feels like they belong—a place where students feel safe, valued, connected, challenged, and excited to learn.

We will also continue providing targeted academic and social-emotional support to meet students where they are. Every child brings different strengths, talents, and needs to school, and our staff is committed to helping every Comet learn, grow, and thrive.

Every Day Matters

Attendance is another example of how a small action can have a big impact. Being at school every day matters. Each day brings new opportunities for learning, connection, friendship, and growth.

Blaine County School District continues to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance, and we appreciate our families partnering with us to help students be present, engaged, and ready to learn.

Important Reminder: Lunch Application Forms

We ask all families to complete the Lunch Application Form, even if you do not believe your child will qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Completed applications help our school secure important funding that supports programs and opportunities for our students.

It is a small action that can make a big difference for our school. Thank you for taking the time to complete it!

Their time, energy, generosity, and commitment provide meaningful experiences and opportunities for our students, staff, and families.
